TIVOL's shining legacy began with humble roots when European immigrant Charles Tivol opened a jewelry store bearing his family name in downtown Kansas City, MO. What began as a small storefront inside the Altman Building off Petticoat Lane, would soon take off and become one of the leading and most trusted jewelry stores in the region.

The Opportunity:

TIVOL is seeking a detail-oriented, and driven professional to join their team as a WatchBuyer. In this pivotal role, the ideal candidate will drive key strategic initiatives and formulate action plans to enhance sales for a selection of luxury watch brands. The Watch Brand Relationship Buyer will be responsible for curating the brand assortment, managing cross-functional collaboration, and providing expert insights into the watch market. The ideal candidate will have a profound understanding of market trends, consumer preferences, and the competitive landscape, combined with exceptional communication, negotiation, and analytical skills. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the strategy and growth of a premium watch brand portfolio within a dynamic and innovative organization.

This is a newly created position designed to execute strategic tasks including display and off-display strategy. The role requires deep product knowledge—particularly of Rolex, Patek Philippe and Tudor—and familiarity with reference numbers. The Buyer will also coordinate CRM usage related to watch requests and ordering, and may be involved in initiatives such as watch ordering, client experiences, and secret shopping programs. The successful candidate must demonstrate impeccable ethics and judgment due to the high-value nature of inventory. A passionate, watch-savvy individual who 'lives and breathes' timepieces is essential.

Job Qualifications:

  • 3+ years’ luxury retail experience, preferably within a luxury watch or jewelry brand.
  • Strong passion for luxury timepieces with a keen eye for detail.
  • Effective analytical skills with experience conducting market research and analyzing sales data.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work alone or on a team, in the office. Ability to collaborate effectively with teams across multiple locations.
  • Proficiency in inventory management systems and familiarity with order processing and CRM software.
  • Solid Excel skills required.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • A self-motivator and with ability to work autonomously in a small family-owned business.
  • Experience in sales or retail specific to luxury watches—especially Rolex, Cartier, Patek Philippe, or Tudor—is preferred.
  • Presentation skills and proficiency in PowerPoint preferred.
