Position Overview:

Location: Anywhere in the U.S. (Remote) — travel required

PCG is seeking a highly experienced former state education leader to join them as Manager, Strategic Partnerships. Managers in their Education practice develop relationships, solutions, and teams that positively impact education. As a member of the Education Practice senior leadership group, the Manager, Strategic Partnerships will develop and execute a national growth strategy for broadening PCG’s state-level footprint in the education sector.

The Manager, Strategic Partnerships will leverage their deep knowledge of education policy, state agency operations, and stakeholder networks to effectively represent PCG’s consulting services. Their primary focus will be to build and maintain strategic relationships with senior decision makers across state education agencies, positioning PCG as a trusted partner for transformative education solutions.

The ideal candidate is a highly respected former education executive with a reputation for thoughtful leadership, collaborative style, and professional integrity. This role is best suited for someone strategic, well-networked, and seen by peers as a connector and trusted advisor. The successful candidate will be able to navigate complex environments and build relationships across a diverse landscape of stakeholders.

In terms of professional qualifications, we are seeking a seasoned, successful executive who brings extensive leadership experience and a successful track record in K-12 public education. The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:

·        Former senior leader in state education agency (e.g., State Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent, Director of Education Policy).

·        National visibility and a strong professional network across multiple states.

·        Extensive knowledge of state education systems, policy frameworks, and funding mechanisms.

·        Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in education, business/public administration, or related field strongly preferred.

The preferred candidate will have a strong grounding in K-12 education with proven results in terms of growth, impact, and reputation. The candidate’s experience must demonstrate an ability to cultivate and leverage client relationships across the United States.
